This tool measures your connection against Cloudflare’s global edge network — the same free, high-bandwidth infrastructure that powers speed.cloudflare.com — rather than a single small server. Your browser downloads and uploads a small amount of test data and times exactly how long each transfer takes, giving live download speed, upload speed and ping. This avoids a single slow server becoming a bottleneck.
