How this works
Your image is redrawn onto an in-browser canvas and re-encoded as a JPEG at your chosen quality — all on your device using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded, so it works even on a slow connection and keeps your photo private.
Tips for the best result
- 70–80% quality usually looks near-identical to the original at a fraction of the size
- Very low quality (under 30%) can introduce visible blocky artifacts
- For scanned documents, try the JPG to PDF tool instead
