What you can use this for
The date calculator is useful when you need to know the exact gap between two specific days — planning a project deadline, counting days until an exam or holiday, calculating tenure at work, or figuring out how long until a loan tenure ends.
How the calculation works
The tool converts both dates into the number of days since 1 January 1970 (the Unix epoch), subtracts the smaller value from the larger one, and displays the difference. Leap years are handled automatically. The start date is not counted; the end date is counted — so the result is the number of full days between the two dates.
Frequently asked questions
Is the result inclusive of both dates?
No. The result counts the days between the two dates but does not include the start date itself. If you want to count both the start and end dates (for example, a leave period), add 1 to the result.
Can I calculate my age in days?
Yes. Enter your date of birth as the start date and today's date as the end date. You can also use the Age Calculator for a years-and-months breakdown.
